Checking in from part of the southwest territory known as Arizona. Actually, I join the site yesterday but had to stop to fix dinner. You see I'm very domesticated, NOT... well it was my turn to cook!?! That was probably more than any one of you wanted to know about me and I can't hardly blame you. LOL...
Over the last several decades, or more to the point, during the Nixon impeachment I began to notice a certain segment of society taking a sharp turn towards the left. (HIPPIES) At about the same time I also began to see the face of political correctness (PC) raise up it 's ugly head. It seemed more prevalent (at least to me, at the time) in the classrooms. And yet, to this day, it still amazes me how anyone can hate "America for which it stands" or try blaming the world's woes on the US people. Unbelievable! [Just a little rant] I feel better now, thanks!?!
Actually, here's some fun information; I'm a thirteenth generation American. My family, came from Scotland(father's side) via England (mother's side) and landed in Pennsylvania in ~1690. At this point they were pretty much trappers working for the French Trading Companies. Eventually, they migrated south into old Virginia (what is West Virgina now) and were among the first four families to settle in the valley and became farmers. My ancestors, have fought in every war this country has ever been in including both sides of the Civil War and currently, I am honored to say, I have two nephews over seas, one in Baghdad (first deployment) and one in Afghanistan (counting Iraq his third deployment.) Pretty cool, huh!
So there you have it. I'm glad to be here and look forward to many spirited debates. And from looking around the site I'm willing to bet money I'm going to learn a thing or two, as well...
Cheers!
